|The Story of Old Venice|
The story of Old Venice started on July 18, 1984 when Jimmy and Julie Hantzarides first opened the doors for business. Together with their two children, Andrew and Natalie, the family business grew and flourished here in this community by the beach. As fate would have it, the original restaurant, and building that housed it, were destroyed by fire on November 28, 2006. The family vowed to rebuild and proceeded to wait the two years it would take to bring their dream back to reality. As fate once more intervened, Jimmy was tragically hit by a car while riding his bike on Manhattan Beach Blvd. and did not survive his injuries. He entered into eternal life on July 4, 2008. Andrew, Natalie and Julie would not be stopped now. They continued with Jimmy's plans and after two and a half years, have rebuilt the restaurant that you now see, exactly as Jimmy had planned, and have created an atmosphere where his spirit can live on and his memory will be eternal. Please accept the Greek Hospitality that Jimmy was so famous for and enjoy your time here at Old Venice. A family's love for good food, good value, and good people, are here to serve you.
In loving memory of
August 10, 1953 - July 4, 2008
Although the Lord has called my husband and our Daddy home, he will live in our hearts and in our minds for all eternity. We know he is smiling down on us and that his spirit will live on in Old Venice forever. Thank you all for your support and for helping us to celebrate Jimmy's legacy!
